The fire last week at the Estes Park Park Theater Mall was ruled an accident after speculation that it could have been an arson. It seems that a natural gas water heater inside a small closet caught fire to some combustible material. This fire then spread throughout the building.
After over 30 investigators from electrical engineers to fire investigators surveyed the damage, the Special Agent of the Denver Field Division for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms ruled the fire an accident. Twelve businesses within the mall were destroyed, and six other businesses were damaged.
A restoration company has been hired by mall owner, Sharon Sealy, to restore the building.
