This is not a personality move I ever saw coming. Clear Channel's 98.5, KUFX, dumped its most competent, sincere and genuinely nice guy on and off the air this weekend.

Chris Jackson, who kept the Greg Kihn show running for 13 years, and before that, did shows of his own, was the latest in the great talent pool of layoffs.

SO often radio ignores its losses and moves on: But to his credit, Greg Kihn wrote a passionate blog about losing his friend here.

I just don't see it. Why do you let go of a guy who has been there for years, has phenomenal knowlege of people and the area, is funny, personable and an integral part of the show?

I don't know how Kihn can go on, and obviously, he's stressing too, although the DJ known as  "Sloppy" Joe Biagini will take Chris's job and he seems OK with that.

Me, I would suggest you turn off the station for a week. Ignore it totally. Don't buy ads; don't go to its shows; ignore it all together in protest. I'm sick of watching the corporate machine chew up good people and spit them out after years of loyalty.

But we see how people are already turning away from the media as it is for bad management decisions like this, and we know it isn't just the technology making them leave.

But hey, if the new managers can turn Kihn into a Democrat, that might change my mind. Yeah, right.

We'll miss you Chris.
