Hidden music phenom Jandek: Does anyone know more?

Who would have thought that in this day and age of media penetration and saturation, there could be a mysterious musician who travels the world and sells out shows, but whom no one in mainstream radio or media has covered?
Check out the wiki entry on Jandek and see what I'm talking about.
He's been traveling around, playing music with excellent sidemen, from the likes of Tortoise and Quasi, but has kept his life a virtual mystery.
Well, here's a video for those who, like me, haven't heard of him until recently. What a debate: how can someone this out of tune have a following? Or how can someone with a following of so many famous musicians (Pearl Jam, Bright Eyes) be so unknown?
