(Karel from radiokrl.com)

I haven't yet talked to KGO radio host  Karel yet about his suspension. I know the agony he's going through while he waits to hear from his bosses and I didn't want to pimp him for a column. Also, I thought it would seem more sincere to write about his plight in my previous column without any hint of bias. You have responded in droves.

If you want to save his job, the best thing you can do is let KGO know at KGOfeedback@yahoo.com. Radio responds to feedback. It has to. Companies supposedly license the airwaves owned by you, and should be submissive to the public's needs.

Christine Craft has also dropped a comment on that page.

Here's the note from Karel, which I copied over here. You can reach Karel at www.radiokrl.com. Don't send hate mail. He's got enough bad feelings on his plate. Have some sympathy.

Karel: Thank you all, including the haters, for your comments. What a time this has been. I wish I could speak like Christine...but the bosses I do respect, and I do, Luckoff, Swanon and Robbins know what they are doing. This was a horrible mistake. The engineer is horribly sorry. I'm sorry. Joe the Plumber sent me the following response...it's all such a mess. Just watch radiokrl dot com
Oh, and for all you right wingers...you're right. The left is just as bad. Everyone from Arianna Huffington to whomever has "distanced" themselves from me without even asking about the situation. Cut and run. Attack. Pounce. Leave. Lesson learned. As for the plumbers wrench through my window that said "die f*g" the red letters spray painted on my garage "die of AIDES" (love the spelling) to my face being spat in at a restaurant or the LBPD having a car parked out front for the weekend because of people coming in my yard, trying to hurt my dogs, throwing things at my house...well, it was quite a birthday party indeed to say the least in the middle of all this. Anyway, I only know I'm suspended. May be fired if I read the press, which is why I haven't. Either way, KGO rents my talent, or lack thereof. If they decide to evict me, I'll find a new home. Life goes on, right? Enjoy joe the plumbers response:

Karel, I'm so sorry to hear about your suspension. Let me throw out an idea that might possibly help:

If you can provide me the e-mails of the appropriate individuals, I will contact your supervisors and say that you made a proactive effort to contact us before you were aware of your suspension. I will say that I am satisfied you are not a credible threat to Joe Wulzbacher, and I will suggest an interview with The Press Office on accidental celebrities and advice for ordinary people who are thrust into the spotlight. We wouldn't even need to discuss Joe at all at that point if that isn't desired, but rather focus on the domino effect of publicity and even address how accidents like yours quickly mushroom out of proportion. It may help you and your station do damage control.

If you'll give me that contact information, I'll give it a try.

Take care,

The Press Office
