According to the BBC, Rupert Grint, the 20 year old actor who plays Ron Weasley in the film version of the best loved children’s series, wasn’t able to wizard away a mild case of the swine flu. It is reported that the actor fell ill amidst shooting for the 7th Harry Potter flick, “Harry Potter ad the Deathly Hallows”, and was forced to take a few days off to recover. But, he has received the all clear from the doctor to return to work, no longer a threat to the health of his Hogwarts pupils, and will even be able to attend the world premiere of “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” in London on Tuesday (the film is set to drop in U.S. theaters July 15th).
This may be one of the first documented celebrity cases of the H1N1 flu, which has reportedly been declared a phase 6 pandemic by the World Health Organization. The illness has claimed 170 lives in the U.S. alone so far this year.
