According to the Los Angeles Times, as well as TMZ.com, and Denver’s own Robbie Knight of 99.5 The Mountain, quintessential “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, has officially passed away this afternoon at UCLA Medical Center, after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest, after being found not breathing by paramedics. He was 50. While we await an official press release from the hospital, let’s all take a moment to reflect on the career of one of the most prolific pop culture icons of the century. While his later life had been tragically plagued with bad press and sticky situations, it is undeniable that Jackson has left his mark on the world of music, and the entertainment industry. From the Jackson Five, to Thriller, to the moonwalk, Jackson revolutionized pop music in ways that have arguable influenced every pop artist over the last twenty five years. He is an icon, and a legend, and he will be missed.
