The Huffington Post, everyone’s favorite liberal media outlet, has announced a new contest: Twitterature. The goal is to summarize a favorite book captured in 140 characters or less. The contest site offers some great examples from the Telegraph, as well as from a book entitled “Twitterature,” on sale in the United States December 29th.

My favorite example is for Melville’s Moby Dick:

“Bloke goes bonkers pursuing large white whale across oceans and ends up harpooned to its side. Moral: don't become a fisherman” (Telegraph)

So, check out this fun contest and see if you can’t come up with a witty summary for a favorite book.
