
When it comes to dog parks, which one earns top dog status?
Well, America’s No. 1 dog park honors goes to Point Isabel Dog Park in Richmond, CA, according to results released Oct. 5 by Petside.com.
Petside.com, an online destination for pet enthusiasts, unleashed its Top 10 Dog Parks in the United States list. Rankings were based on amenities and activities available at dog parks as well as hours of operation and cost of entry.

Point Isabel Dog Park claimed the top spot based on its scenic location plus its amenities, including places for dogs to swim and hike as well as an on-site café.

2. Dog Wood Dog Park in Jacksonville, FL offers 25 acres of fenced play area, swimming, Frisbee fields, a sand pile for digging, and park-provided toys. There is a designated small dog area as well as one for children and dogs. Dues are $289 annually; day passes are available.
3. Jackson's Howabaloo Dog Park in Edinboro, PA features swimming and hiking, a play area just for special needs dogs and unique amenities such as weather shelters. Dues are $269 annually; monthly and daily passes are available.
4. Fort Woof in Fort Worth, TX ranks high among the late night crowd—the well-lit park is open until 11:30 p.m. Admission is free, and fun annual events such as "Barktoberfest" appeal to dogs and people alike.
5. Shaggy Pines Dog Park in Ada, MI offers jogging and hiking trails, a swimming pond and play areas for different sized dogs. There is also a coffee bar and lounge for owners. Membership starts at $256 per year.
