There I was, innocently checking out the link to a site called Homesick Texan in the privacy of my own cubicle. A fellow Texan recommended the food blog, saying that it had remarkable recipes from a woman living in New York who obviously had a little longing for Tejas that's standard after the big move.
As soon as I googled "homesick texan," and the giant header appeared, I heard laughs behind me. My friends had just watched me google the phrase that they now guessed described me in a time of desperation, with the Internet as my only friend.
After much denial, I gave in. Fine. I am a homesick Texan. At the same time, the Southern cooking complete with the fantastic food photography really overshadows all of that.
