Don't be alarmed as you drive past the fireworks display at the Westfield mall in Meriden, CT this Independence Day. This year the Westfield Meriden mall invites you to celebrate the fourth of July at their Celebrate Independence Day with Westfield Meriden.

The mall is located off of 691. In fact it is plain view from the highway. On 7/4/09 from 6:00-10:00pm fireworks, food, and other activities will be located at the top level of the Sears parking garage. Admission is $1 to partake in the live concerts, family exhibits, and a tribute honoring local heroes: fire, police, and EMS. Family exhibits will include a classic car show and New Britain Rock Cats. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford's Live United campaign.

The first 3,000 guests will receive free scratch and win tickets for instant prizes and discounts. After dusk will be a choreographed fireworks display. Park on the first and second levels of the Sears parking garage. You can then access the event on the third level by stairs or elevator. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs. For more information call (203) 235-3343 or visit westfield.com/meriden/news/FireworksFoodFun.html. The Westfield Meriden is located at 470 Lewis Avenue, Meriden, CT. The rain date is 7/5/09.
