Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning had a message Wednesday for those criticizing Tennessee Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher's Tuesday wardrobe decision:

Relax.

Fisher, in his 15th season as the Titans' head coach, on Tuesday wore a Peyton Manning No. 18 Colts jersey while introducing former Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy at a Rally for Rocketown event at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. Fisher, who told the crowd "I just wanted to feel like a winner," later apologized for the "incident," which angered some Tennessee fans.

The Titans are currently 0-6, but Manning said Wednesday Fisher didn't owe anyone an apology.

"I just heard about that," Manning said Wednesday as the Colts (6-0) prepared to play the St. Louis Rams (0-5) at Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis.

"If he's catching any heat for that, that's pretty ridiculous. That's the problem with giving speeches now, or introducing somebody: if you try to be the least bit humorous, it always comes back to make a story out of it. They want you to be a boring speaker or a boring introducer.

"It's a guarantee the crowd probably got a big laugh out of it. I'm sure Coach Dungy did, too. It's pretty funny to me, but I don't think he should have to be apologizing for it."

Manning was asked if he could envision first-year Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell donning a New England Patriots QB Tom Brady  jersey.

"I don't know if Caldwell will be introducing (Patriots Head Coach Bill) Belichick at a speech any time soon, so I'm not sure it would come up," Manning said.
