Now that it is getting closer to winter a time when it is even more important to get "Fluffy"or "Spike" or in my case "Shadow" out to your local dog park, because like us, our dogs need exercise and also like us Fluffy is getting fatter as we speak sitting on the couch. This is a great hobby for me, I get to spend time with my best friend, and sometimes the only one...Its not that bad.
I frequent a dog park near Hannah More School off of Reisterstown Road in Baltimore County. The BARC Park celebrated its first anniversery on November 1st, and about two hundred people and dogs showed up. Now I admit President-Elect Obama can draw a bigger crowd but we did ok. We had dog related games, and our version of the Westminster Dog Show you can see on PBS. We also had dog behaviorist, we had alot of fun. We humans do all kind of things to our dogs, dress them up and or treat them as if they could talk to us. If our dogs could talk, I know mine would say "Hey, I need to get out of the house too" and this is a good way to get "Fido" to socialize with other dogs. Oh, by the way does anyone actually name their dog Fido? Anyway take some time and get started on your new hobby, taking care of baby you know the furry one that never seems to grow up, but look at it this way, you don't have to send them to college.and the vet bills are still cheaper.
