The California Supreme Court has upheld the passage of Prop 8 but the 18,000 same-sex marriages that are on the books will remain intact.

I've been watching the live coverage online via CNN.  They still have the audio channel open and it's amazing to hear what people are saying, chanting (Shame on you) and to hear the anguish in people's voices.

Based on this decision, there will be a protest held at the Center on Halsted this evening so that we can continue to make our voices heard.

The Gay Liberation Network along with the Day of Decision are planning to host a rally at Center on Halsted so that everyone can join forces to celebrate or protest depending on the decision that is handed down by the court.

  • What: Day of Decision Rally
  • When: Tuesday, May 26 - 7PM
  • Where: Center on Halsted - 3656 N Halsted

Don't forget that Illinois is on the cusp of passing Civil Unions, see full details here
