Corey Maggette may be coming back, but that's hardly the storyline vs. Utah

Corey Maggette is the Warriors' second-leading scorer at 19.1 points per game, and he very well may be returning tonight against Utah after missing a bunch of games with a hamstring injury.

But that's only a secondary storyline for tonight's game against the Jazz.

The real reason to watch tonight is to see if Warriors coach Don Nelson will play just-called-up Jermareo Davidson ahead of rookie Anthony Randolph, and the smart money is on Nellie doing it.

It was just a few days ago Nelson said they were putting Randolph on ice. Playing Davidson would be one way to do it.

As for Maggette, Nelson told SFGate.com that he was going to limit Maggette's minutes and likely bring him off the bench. Maggette said he was OK with that but seemed luke-warm.

One real issue with the Warriors is they have two ideal sixth men in Jamal Crawford and Maggette but neither wants to come off the bench.

Warriors assistant general manager Larry Riley is in Utah, like the team, but he won't be at the Warriors' game tonight. Nor should he be.

The D-League Showcase is being held this week in nearby Orem, a four-day extravaganza of hoops.

Brandan Wright indicated to beat writers yesterday that he was probably going to be able to play tonight against the Jazz. After giving it some thought, maybe it's worth watching Davidson as he relates to Wright in the rotation, also.

Wouldn't that be something if Davidson plays in front of both Wright and Randolph? Oh, brother.
