One nice thing about having your own website is you can post what you want … within reason, of course.
Sure, this is mostly a Warriors and NBA page, but that doesn’t mean I can’t touch on any and all kinds of basketball _ even college.
Even Division III hoops.
I got to thinking ... it’s apparent that there are a lot of Warriors fans growing more frustrated with coach Don Nelson, and his apparent unwillingness to play young players more.
Still, Nelson is one of the most well-known and successful coaches in NBA history.
So, I figured I’d tell you about one of the least-known and most successful coaches in history:
Glenn Robinson, head coach of Franklin and Marshall College.
And I’m not talking about Glenn Robinson, the “Big Dog.”
I’m talking about Glenn Robinson, one of the all-time winningest coaches in basketball history.
I had the privilege of playing for Robinson in the mid-1980s, and you won't find a more prepared coach on any level. The Diplomats have struggled some lately, but Robinson's got them playing well this year.
As I've watched the Warriors in recent games struggling to pass the ball and reluctant to make plays for teammates, I kept thinking of Robinson.
I know for a fact Robinson would have no problem telling anyone and everyone on the Warriors to pass the ball.
He told me plenty of times.
