The Warriors and Hawks haven’t even tipped-off yet, and there’s a little news out of Atlanta.
Apparently, Warriors coach Don Nelson is going to raise the stakes some.
Nelson started Rob Kurz at power forward tonight, rather than either Anthony Randolph or Brandan Wright.
That means Nelson will give the undrafted Kurz the first crack at the ultra-athletic Josh Smith.
Kurz is an undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame whom Nelson calls his most ready rookie.
Wright was acquired last summer for Jason Richardson. Randolph is the rookie, selected No. 14 this past offseason.
Randolph got a DNP-CD in the Warriors last game against Indiana and played just two minutes in the game before that against Orlando.
Wright played just seven-plus minutes against Indiana and only 12 minutes vs. the Magic.
