Real quick, it's obvious the talk of a potential deal with the Charlotte Bobcats affected how the Warriors handled their roster decision now that Monta Ellis is returning.
Richard Hendrix is the loser.
Now that Ellis has served his 30-game suspension, he must be placed on the active or inactive list. That means the Warriors had to get rid of a player or make a two-for-one, three-for-two or like deal.
They haven't made any kind of deal. Yet.
If the Warriors are in active talks, it is unlikely they wanted to waive point guard Marcus Williams and eat the remaining $750,000. Not when you might be able to include him in a deal.
The Warriors could have waived Rob Kurz, but Warriors coach Don Nelson has talked glowingly recently of Kurz.
The same couldn't be said for Hendrix, whom Nelson saw play last week in a D-League game in Bakersfield.
Nelson was lukewarm about Hendrix's play. The Warriors will still have to eat the remainder of Hendrix's salary this season, which was guaranteed.
