Marco Belinelli is a second-year player like Brandan Wright. And Belinelli, like Wright, didn’t play much during his rookie season.
And also like Wright, Belinelli has a first-year player in camp this year trying to take his position, or at least some minutes.
But Belinelli’s handling the situation better than Wright, clearly establishing himself over rookie Anthony Morrow.
Morrow played his way onto the Warriors’ roster (he’s got a guarantee for this season and team option for next) with outstanding 3-point shooting in the Las Vegas summer league and Rocky Mountain Revue.
Morrow was the MVP of the RMR.
“Belinelli’s clearly the favorite there,” coach Don Nelson said.
It’s not like Belinelli has clear sailing. He'll still be battling Kelenna Azubuike for most of the perimeter minutes in one way or another.
