Lipton brings us an entire line of green tea to allow us a bountiful line up of choices so we can get our antioxidants. If you are unfamiliar with antioxidants and why they are important to us, let us allow Wikipedia to explain. Wikipedia states, “An antioxidant is a molecule capable of slowing or preventing the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that transfers electrons from a substance to an oxidizing agent. Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals, which start chain reactions that damage cells.” Thus, by drinking more green tea we are helping to protect our cells and our well being.
This green tea, while it is still in the untouched teabag, has the grassy aroma that is typical for a green tea. That aroma is accented by the aroma of a dried berry mix. Once the hot water is added for brewing, the water immediately appears to have a pale yellow hue. The aroma changes to a berry over aloe.
Once the tea is brewed, we see an amber hue in the mug. The berry aroma fully encompasses the nose. This medium body tea comes with a flavor of green tea that is slightly accented by the berry mix. The aftertaste is a remembrance of the original flavor but leaves the mouth like light leaving a room when someone is turning the light off by diming the light with a dimmer switch before just switching off the light.
This tea brings us a slight variation on a green tea. Although the aroma is completely different, the flavor is only accented by the berry. This brings this tea to a place where it gives us a variety in our green tea drinking experience. It is worth a try, as it is a good tea, but it does not leave a lasting impression.
Till next time, may your cup warm your heart.
