When it comes to herbal teas, everyone tends to have their own recipe for self-believed excellence. Mount of Olives Treasures, distributes their tea in the U.S. via a New York, New York distribution network. However, the box states that this tea was formulated and designed in Israel and produced in Sri Lanka. It includes an ingredient list of verbena, chamomile, dandelion, licorice, ash tree, melissa, ginger, olive leaves, lemon grass, grape leaves, pomegranate leaves, and hyssop.

Before brewing, the tea bag has an aroma that consists of the mix of the pomegranate with the chamomile. This aroma is strong in regards to pomegranate taking prominence over the chamomile while taking on a spicy attribute. Immediately after adding the hot water, the hue changes to a foggy yellow. This is accompanied by an aroma that has completely changed. The chamomile suddenly takes prominence without even a hint of the pomegranate and spice that was there before the water was added.
After brewing, the hue is amber. The aroma is that of a typical chamomile but it is darker aroma than most chamomile teas. This makes it an herbal grass. The taste is a flat tangy chamomile that tastes like you are consuming a gritty drink but there is no grit in the tea. The aftertaste is a reinforcement of the flat tang of the original flavor. This tea has another oddity in that it has a medium to heavy body that is not typical with a chamomile.
This is an interesting take on a chamomile tea. While it is definitely worth a try to bring variety into our tea drinking experiences, this tea leaves something to be desired.

Till next time may your cup warm your heart
