
It’s Bye Bye Lloyd.
Citing a family illness, Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future” “Taxi”) has dropped out of the upcoming production of “Dr Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at the Pantages Theatre.
Lloyd, who was to have played the Yuletide hating title character will be replaced by Stefan Karl, a veteran of the children’s TV show “Lazy Town.” Karl, an L.A. resident, played the Grinch in Boston and Baltimore engagements of the musical last holiday season.
John Larroquette stars as Old Max and James Royce Edwards will play Young Max in the musical, adapted from the book by Dr. Seuss by Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason. Matt August directs.
Rounding out the cast are: Kayley Stallings and Issadora Tulalian in the role of Cindy Lou Who, Melinda Gilb as Mama Who, Danny Gurwin as Papa Who, Rosemary Loar as Grandma Who, and Stuart Zagnit as Grandpa Who. Adult ensemble members include Eric Anthony, Heather Barr, Alex Chester, Janet Dickinson, Antoinette DiPietropolo, Jennie Ford, Dennis Kenney, Shanon Mari Mills, Candice Nicole, Josephine Rose Roberts, Joe Souza, and Pearl Sun. Child ensemble members include Michael William Arnold, Isabella Briscoe, Maddie Levy, Molly Livingston, Quinton Lopez, Terren Mueller, Lindsay Ryan, Molly Ryan, Gracie Stover, and Terrance Thomas.
