Depending on when you go, the task of parking in the South Street area can be anywhere between easy and a real pain. Finding an on-street spot on a Saturday night is obviously a lot more of a challenge than finding a spot on a Tuesday afternoon.

If you can get a spot at a meter on South Street - or a few blocks in either direction - then go for it. Just make sure your parallel parking skills are up to par. There’s also a limited amount of free parking in spaces along Front Street near I-95.

But if you want a sure-fire place to park, in a convenient location, and don’t mind paying the standard city parking garage fees of about $15 - $20, then head to the garage on Lombard Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets. You can park there as long as you want, and the location is a short walk from most of the bars, restaurants, and shops you would want to go to.
