If free ice cream from Starbucks (see how here) and Ben & Jerry’s (see how ) isn’t enough to satisfy your sweet tooth and your wallet, how about a few more freebies to jump-start the weekend?
Jones Soda brings back its “Free Soda Friday” promotion by offering every Seattleite a free soda today. Simply stop by Jones Soda’s headquarters in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood (specifically, 234 Ninth Avenue North) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to claim yours. Best of all, everybody who stops by for free soda will be entered for a chance to win 4 seats in the Jones Soda suite at Qwest Field to watch the Seattle Sounders FC match on August 29th.
The promotion continues throughout the summer, with free soda at headquarters every Friday between 3 p.m and 5 p.m., as well as 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at selected retail outlets throughout King County.
Later today, check out the new look of the University Village location of Starbucks (4634 26th Avenue NE). Some say it’s rustic, and some say it’s contemporary. Have your say, and bring a mug from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to score yourself some free coffee. At least that’s the rumor.
Tomorrow, July 11, may be National Rainier Cherry Day, but if you find yourself at Pike Place Market today, look for the Northwest Cherry Girls, who’ll gladly give you samples of the internationally prized, plump cherries. They’re a cross between a Bing and a Van, and they’re in season now, so take advantage.
Finally, there will be a giveaway on July 11 itself. Appropriately enough, 7-Eleven will be giving away Slurpees—from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Quantities may be limited.
To recap, you can get cherry soda at Jones Soda, cherries at Pike Place, and a cherry Slurpee at 7-Eleven—all for free. Moments ago, the manager at Starbucks said she wasn’t sure about the free coffee, but she was sure there will be other giveaways tonight, and that there’s cherry pie pastry for sale as of this morning.
