The Phinneywood blog reports that King Falafel has closed, but I'm excited about what's set to take its place at 8102 Greenwood Avenue North: Aloha Ramen.

Word is that the owner worked as sous chef at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki Beach for some time. The true test, though, will be in the quality of the ramen - the broth, the noodles, and the other ingredients. And I'm really hopeful that he'll be a regular provider of shoyu (soy sauce) ramen, as the best we have is a Tsukushinbo, which serves a limited number of bowls just one day per week.
