August brings the third month of the Urban BBQ Series at Joule, which means you’ve got three Sundays left to try their twist on grilling. Chef/owners Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi feature a different theme each week, and the next two look especially tempting.

This Sunday is “Chick-a-Licious,” and naturally I think the chicken liver mousse popsicle is most intriguing. For the less adventurous, there will be spicy fried chicken, grilled chicken salad, deviled eggs, and more. And the following Sunday is “Dreaming of Pigs” (which I do regularly), with crispy fried pork belly, pulled pork sandwiches, and “bacon-wrapped something” slated for serving. Joule, you had me at “pigs.”

The series ends on August 17 with “Patties and Dogs,” and as you can sense, Joule sees these Sundays as family affairs. Chef Rachel says she hopes that people will pop in throughout the afternoon and early evening to snack, sip, and soak up the sounds of some live jazz (2-4 p.m.).
