The screen is black. Images of historical moments flash across the screen. A symbolic statue holding a slivel globe opens up -Michael Jackson pops out form the inside...
This is what was suppose to happen at MJ's 'This Is It' concert. The final concert MJ was giving the fans as he stated at a press conference in London earlier this year.
The hour and half documentary opened with a casting-call of the industry's best dancers auditioning for Michael Jackson and Kenny Ortega (concert director) for a spot on the hottest concert of the year. After an imtimidating competition, 7 guys and 2 women -a total of 9 were chosen to dance along side MJ.
Without warning, Jackson immediately took fans on a rollercoaster ride of admidst excitement and thrills, as he displayed his genuis ability through song and dance.
I couldn't help but notice, the fans in the movie theater was intrigued by the magic MJ performed on stage. The fans couldn't help but dance and sing along to the string of hits, he selected for his concert line-up such as, 'Wanna Be Starting Something; Jam; They Don't Care About Us. It wasn't until Jackson chanted the opening melody of 'Human Nature' that you could feel the disappointment and sadness of how MJ's life was tragically ended to soon...to soon to finish his great journey. Movie goers was touched -as he belted out his classic hit. Tear-filled eyes and lumpy throats filled the theater.
MJ carried us to the next couple of performances without a care in the world, with the songs, Smooth Criminal; I Want You Back; and Stop the Love, until he was hit with reality of how much he love his family, through the song 'I'll Be There' ending with a ton of 'I Love You' tha twere genuiely expressed to his family (who were not present) at the end of the song.
Jackson created a duet with background singer Jonah Hill, with the song 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', but quickly went to the classic tune of 'Thriller' as he emerged from the stage out of a robotic spider and the dancers disappeared under the stage.
The music director, Michael Beardon, was thrown a starp motion from Jackson to move to the upbeat melody of 'Beat It', before streaming into the heavily-symbolic-message of the 'Earth Song'. Once again, tear-filled-eyes and lumpy throast filled the theater.
Jackson ended his journey with us with, 'Billie Jean and the Man in the Mirror', before delivery a unforgetable message of how we can not wait for the planet to heal its self, we all need to look in the mirror and start with ourselves. Message Heard.
As the movie-goers started exiting the theater a roar of applauses filled the room. This documentary reveiled why Jackson will forever be...in our hearts...on our radio...on our minds...and our KING OF POP.
