Radio station 98 Rock is giving one lucky band the chance to open the Rockalottapus Summer Festival featuring Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Tesla, and more at Sleep Train Amphitheater on August 1.  98 Rock is accepting music from interested local bands between now and July 3 for the Rockalottapus concert.  Powerman 5000, Saliva, Trapt, Rehab, Cavo, Since October, and Pop Evil will also perform.

Interested bands with members 18 and older can apply by sending the required music and information to “Rockalottapus” at 5345 Madison Ave., Sacramento, CA, 95841 or to mgilmore@entercom.com. Bands need to clearly state that the music submission is for the Rockalottapus concert.

To be eligible, bands must submit all of the following materials:

-Band biography, including photo

-Two songs of original music and lyrics

-References including performing history

-Band point person with name, address, phone number, cell phone number, and e-mail address

After July 3, 98 Rock staff will narrow the field to 15 of the best bands in Northern California.

98 Rock will then post the top 15 bands at www.krxq.net where members of the “Rock Mob” can vote for the band they want to see at Rockalottapus. Voting will last for 2 weeks (July 10 – 24), and the winning act will be announced on the July 26 Local Licks show.

Entry is open to any band, any genre, as long as the band is from the Sacramento area.

For official rules and guidelines, visit 98 Rock.
