If you enjoyed the music in Away We Go, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, and/or Juno, there's a good chance you will also enjoy the soundtrack to 500 Days of Summer.  There's a pretty good mix of old and new on it.  New: Regina Spektor, the Sydney-based band Wolfmother, Black Lips, the Melbourne-based band The Temper Trap, Carla Bruni, Feist in a nice song from Let It Die, She & Him (Zooey Deschanel also sings "Sugar Town" solo, a bonus track in the iTunes Store), and Meghan Smith with a classic one from the Pixies.  Speaking of the Pixies, the soundtrack very openly acknowledges the talented influences leading up to all the bands/artists writing and playing music right now.  You have The Smiths, Doves, a catchy pop song by Hall & Oates, and an awesome referene to Bell & Sebestian's album The Boy with the Arab Strap.  This is a very good soundtrack, probably the best of 2009 so far.  I recommend watching the movie and then buying the soundtrack.  If you do, I bet you won't regret your decision.
