Dark Was The Night, the two-disc 31-track compilaton released back in February was produced by the Dessner brothers of The National and John Carlin.  If you are a fan of indie music, you need to buy this (if you don't already own it).  I enjoy listening to it because there are many well-established musicians on the indie scene with songs I have never heard before.  Amazing duets: Feist and Ben Gibbard from Death Cab For Cutie on "Train Song," Conor Oberst and Gillian Welch on "Lua" (originally on Bright Eyes' I'm Wide Awake It's Morning), and Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues on "Amazing Grace."  There's also some standards where you can't go wrong, such as Arcade Fire, Andrew Bird, Bon Iver, The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, My Brightest Diamond, The National, Iron & Wine, Spoon, and Sufjan Stevens - I didn't even mention all the bands / musicians.  This is indie music heaven.  There's some heavy-hitters here who recorded their songs for the specefic purpose of being included on Dark Was The Night.  Don't miss out, it's worth the $12.99 at Amazon.com
