Citizens take Capitol Hill
Today nearly 20,000 people showed up at the steps of the Capital to tell their members of congress and anyone else who was listening that the people of this country flat out reject the 1,900+ page health care bill.
There were flags and signs as far as the eye could see. This was in less than a week’s time with hardly any organization and no real advertising that this rally was brought about. Speakers including Jon Voight, John Ratzengberger, Mark Levin and dozens of Republican members of congress stood at the Capital and told the people what they largely already knew, that this health care bill has nothing to do with health care and is all politics. The crowd shouted slogans such as “Kill the bill” over and over again.
The mainstream media probably won’t mention anything about the rally or if they do they will say it was a few dozen protestors. There was no denying that many, many people showed up from all over the country. Nanci Pelosi would probably have you believe it was all astroturf. However, she also would have us believe that Democrats won the night this past election Tuesday.
After the rally, the throngs of people headed to the congressional office buildings to tell their members of congress to vote no on this health care bill. The lines to get in were so long that the people waiting to get in are probably still there now.
The vote is scheduled to take place in the house this coming Saturday. It doesn’t look like Pelosi has the votes but it’s hard to imagine she’ll have a vote if she doesn’t have the numbers. Pay attention because it’s entirely possible the vote will be pushed back and maybe called off for a while. The senate has already indicated they wouldn’t have a vote until next year possibly.

Typical of some of the signs at the rally.

A huge crowd.

This is a line to get into one of the Congressional office buildings before the rally is even over.
