Hasan, disgruntled employee or terrorist sleeper cell
Major Nidal Malik Hasan shot and killed thirteen and injured twenty nine more soldiers at Fort Hood last Thursday. Though details were sketchy at first, even early it appeared this was not an isolated case of a crazy person. Here is my earlier
article calling the shooting a terrorist attack. The article drew a lot of attention and many people quickly pointed out that it did not fit the definition of a terrorist attack. I knew that it did not fit the politically correct standard definition of terrorism with the details we originally had but I believed it was terrorism and that there was more to the story than was presented.
As details emerged we have learned that Hasan was a Muslim. He shouted Allahu Akbar as he killed his “fellow” soldiers. He had been investigated by the FBI and considered not a threat. We have also learned that his Imam is a radical who inspired two of the 9/11 hijackers. Hasan also contacted Al Qaeda between ten and twenty times. Hasan made a presentation about the backlash that was coming from Muslims on this country.
It wasn’t long ago that another radical Muslim
attacked soldiers at a recruiting center. The media would not tell you how the shooter was a radical Muslim who had recently been to Yemen. Oddly enough president Obama when he came to speak to the nation, he had shout outs to get to before he put on his sad face and said his heart was with the victims. The next day Obama urged us not to jump to conclusions. I think it is important to point out here that President
Obama said in Cairo that it was part of his job to defend Islam.
Politicians and pundits have been quick to say that this was an isolated case and that perhaps he was just a disgruntled employee. Red flags have been going up for this guy for a long time. He did not just snap. When he was investigated previously it was determined that all of his contacts and other issues that were problems were just for research purposes.
Consider this
story where an FBI agent tried seventy times to stop the 9/11 hijackings.
Many in America are turning a blind eye to what is happening. Worse though is the fact that some are doing much worse than ignoring radical Islam, they are actually helping it.
Was he part of a sleeper cell? If so he actually telegraphed a lot of what he was doing. Regardless we should be exploring how we missed the boat again and not be concerned about a
Muslim backlash or stereotyping Muslims.
