As Minneapolis' official Arts District, Northeast Minneapolis has many galleries to visit.  Galleries in Northeast typically reside in quaint storefronts, are less commercial than Downtown galleries, host a wide range of local and international artists, and have great opening parties.  

Altered Esthetics is located in the Q'arma Building off of Quincy Street.  They host openings on the first Friday of every month.  They strive to "sustain the historical role of artists as a true voice of society" through their exhibitions, programs, workshops, services, and events.

Located in the Northrup King Building, Blue Sky Galleries offers breathtaking fine woodwork.  Their artists offer custom furniture, accessories, sculpture, and turnings, and classes are also available.

The Gallery @ Fox Tax is always a hot place to be during their openings.  Fox tax offers professional services to artists of all genres from tax services and year-round planning, to new business consultation and payroll set-up.  The Gallery is curated by the ever-stylish Emma Berg, director of mplsart.com.

A pillar of the Northeast Minneapolis arts scene since 1988, Frank Stone Gallery shows fine art in a variety of mediums.  High quality local art can be seen in this gallery in March through May and September through the holiday season.

Gallery 122 @ Hang It features local artists throughout the year.  As the answer for all residential and commercial framing needs, Hang It also hosts a large gallery space showing art in a variety of different media.

Icebox Quality Framing and Gallery has been around since someitme in the mid-1980's in one form or another.  Now, Icebox is known for their quality framing as well as their inspiring and international photography exhibitions.

Located on Northeast's booming 13th Avenue, the edgy Rogue Buddha Gallery has been featured in numerous local, national, and international arts publications.  Rogue Buddha has a reputation for showing the best local and upcoming international talent.

Created in 1988, The Soap Factory was among the first Minneapolis galleries to feature emerging visual art and installation.  Located in a raw and historic 48,000 square foot factory near the riverfront, the Soap Factory is the one of the largest exhibition spaces in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and holds national recognition as well.  It provides a dynamic space for installation, performance, film, sculpture, music, and video.

spotArt is known for its unconditional support for local artists.  National and emerging local artists flock to this gallery for its great exhibitions and fun openings that feature live music and henna tattoos.
