Murder is big in the news this week. From Nashville, to Ft. Hood, Texas, and all the way to Orlando, Florida, people are going on rampages and killing each other. Why is this happening?
In Nashville, on Sunday night, Ronterius Roberson, 27, allegedly shot and killed one man and wounded another. It’s believed that the altercation could have been caused by a bad drug deal. Roberson was last seen possibly heading towards Atlanta, with his mother driving him there.
Yesterday in Ft. Hood, Texas, an officer in the ARMY, that was on his way to Iraq for a tour of duty, decided to take some of his fellow military brothers and sisters out. He was shot and left for dead after killing 13 people and wounding another 30. He is now healing in a local hospital, pending charges.
Today, in Orlando, Florida, a former employee of a high rise office building, opened fire, killing two and injuring six more. The man is still at large and still armed.
Why is this happening? According to the above reports, the reasons for the deadly attacks varied from money, to fear, to anger, but most of it is speculation.
What about the people left behind? Are we safe in our own backyards? Is this a trend? Will there be more copycat murders to follow these horrific events? While the victims begin the healing process and the families mourn their loved ones; the rest of us have unanswered questions.
