Pnina Zohara, Women's Healing Clinic

The Bay Area has always been a hotbed for new and alternative forms of health and healing and other wellness trends. If you are a fan of alternative healing but find it impossible to afford on a regular basis, there are two new budget-conscious alternative health clinics in Marin you should know about. One is solely for women, the other is open to both women and men.

The first is the Women's Healing Clinic - offering a safe and simple way to sample a broad variety of alternative health practices and practitioners at a reasonable cost. Intro sessions are $20 for 20 minutes and are available every Saturday from 2 to 4 pm at the clinic at World Dance Fitness in San Anselmo (address: 40 Greenfield Ave, San Anselmo, CA 94960). Described as a "budget-minded sanctuary," it is open to all women. View their blog for upcoming events and practitioner demonstrations.

The second is the Community Acupuncture Clinic in San Rafael (and other places in and around the Bay Area). This clinic is only one of many opening around the Bay Area which offer low-cost, ongoing group acupuncture treatments for everyone. As the trend for affordable community acupuncture grows, more and more clinics are opening around the world. Treatments are from $15 - $40 on a sliding scale. Run by  Lumiel Kim-Hammerich, L.Ac., D.A.O.M, the address for the clinic in San Rafael is 2130 4th St., Ste. D, San Rafael, CA 94901 and the phone is 415 302-8507.

Affordable healthcare should be a right. Having choices and making decisions about your health that you feel good about and can afford should be a right. Exercise your rights and take care of yourself. These two clinics make that possible. I say: check it out!
