Great post today at MKRob's Sports Blog lists some of the more famous athletes that had something to say on Twitter about the passing of pop star Michael Jackson.
A couple of classic ones:
today isnt a good day to talk about trades. really not. im sorry. top five mj songs.” @Dwight Howard
Then there's this series from Chad Ochocinco:
“Okay, first Mrs. Fawcett now Mr. Jackson, please tell me that this is a mistaken rumor, if not this is just as sad as 9/11 … @OGOchoCinco
Followed by this as a "make-up" tweet:
The 9/11 was a bit over the top, i am just in an emotional state right now, bare with me while i regroup people, be back in 10 minutes … @OGOchoCinco
The guy just has one foot firmly planted in his mouth, doesn't he?
And of course, the Big Tweeter a/k/a, The New Cav-A-Shaq:
“is it true about michael …
aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh dam dam dam” @THE_REAL_SHAQ
But leaving that blog aside, a quick cruise around Twitter inevitably leads to Kevin Love of the Timberwolves. He has started to make a name for himself as an uncontrolled tweeter. His tweets about his coach leaving the team upstaged the official announcement and he was humbled a bit. But...he seemed in rare form on Thursday evening as he slipped back into his habit of saying the first thing that comes to his mind, seemingly every minute or two. I can't count the number of tweeted apologies in his posts as he just let it all fly during the NBA Draft.
But when it came to acknowledging the death of the King of Pop he was only able to muster this:
is the king of pop ok? RIP Mike Jackson rip mr. moonwalk @kevin_love
And then it was back to business right away with this tweet:
Draft em @kevin_love
Gotta love a guy that is driven to make his point no matter what else is going on.
Ok, how about following ME on Twitter?
