UPDATE: The Denver Post is reporting that Kroenke Sports, owners of both the Denver Nuggets and the Pepsi Arena at which they play, has announced that game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals will be played as scheduled on Monday May 25.
That leaves WWE out in the cold or as its impressario, Vince McMahon has said:
I don't have any idea what I'm going to do, whether I'm going to produce a show out of a parking lot somewhere."
Meanwhile, according to good old Vince, the contract doesn't provide for being bumped off the date of his "Monday Night Raw: event that has attracted 10,000 ticket buyers as of this date.
I'd normally suggest a lawyer's advice about something like this but I have a sneaking suspicion McMahon won't need one.
Stay tuned. Original article below.
This is a classic. Vince McMahon gets to beat his chest, posture, threaten and ultimately make money from it all.
The Pepsi Center booked a WWE event, "Monday Night Raw" for Memorial Day and has sold some 10,000 tickets for it all. And according to Dan Patrick on his radio program this morning, the contract was updated only four weeks ago.
The problem? That same night is set for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kroenke Sports owns both the arena and the Nuggets and I guess it thought it was going to be business as usual at the end of May with the Nuggets home watching other basketball teams go deep into the playoffs. But that doesn't explain the latest news about contract changes being made on April 15th of this year.
Whoops! Here is the Vince McMahon statement about the conflict:
"The fans in Denver had a lot more faith in making the playoffs than the owner."
He also used the word "ineptness" to describe Kroenke Sports. You think?

Nothing like the NBA hanging the Nuggets and Kroenke out to dry. The team tried to pass the problem off to the league and got the bouncing ball right back in its face:
"The Nuggets and the WWE understand that the date of Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals cannot be changed."
Ouch! Countdown to the day of the scheduling conflict stands at six and counting...
