With all due respect to the people of Utah, its attorney general and the fans of Utah's great football team, can we stop with the threats of legal action please?

An anti-trust action brought by one state against the BCS is a can of worms that will cost multiple fortunes and take years to win or lose. Of course if you're just in the business of threatening law suits in the hope of getting your victim to settle the case rather than stick it out til the end, then I guess all scenarios are open to you.

But in that case are you really any less sympathetic as a "victim" than a person who is slightly injured in a car accident and threatens to take your house if the damages exceed your policy limits? You get the picture.

I can't tell you I'm happy that President-elect Obama continues to beat the drum for a playoff. Not that I don't agree that a playoff system is best to settle the great yearly debate.

It's because with the legal threats being thrown around, it isn't a way to keep the emotions in check of those that are agitated by it all.

In the meantime, the title game has just ended and Florida has won by the score 24-14. Hardly a score one would need to say unequivocally that Florida deserves to be the national champ. Well, unless you're from Florida. Sorry Utah.

Check out the photo slideshow of the game.
