After Manny Pacquiao's emphatic 12th round TKO of Miguel Cotto, the crowd in attendance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas started chanting: "We want Floyd. We want Floyd."

From the comments received on my most recent columns regarding the fight and its aftermath, most readers expressed strong opinions about the potential outcome of a fight between Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather as well as how the ultimate purse should be split between the two.

It didn't matter to them that the negotiations have only just begun with public posturing by both sides and those friendly to them.

In reading the comments some have stood out as insightful, amusing or just plain outrageous. I have chosen some of my favorites from the last week and I hope you enjoy them the way I did. Oh, and by the way, keep them coming.

#2  JinkysisLover  The more you reason out with Floyd, the more he makes it difficult for everybody. And he enjoys it. The thing to deal with this is to simply ignore him. Make him take the initiative to start the negotiations. Meantime, Manny should explore the possibility of fighting Foreman for the jr. middleweight crown and the 8th division title. Forget Marquez everybody knows that he does not stand a chance now against Pacman.

#4  SteelerFanatic - Sorry, but Floyd doesn't deserve a 50/50 split. That is a joke. Pacman is the draw and will deliver the majority of the live gate and the PPV. However, Paula is right, Floyd is such a punk that he won't take anything less than 50/50 because his ego won't let him. So screw it, give him 50/50 and get the fight signed and set a date. There is nothing that I want more (besides another Super Bowl win for my Steelers) than to see Manny knock that punk Mayweather out. I will be ringside for that fight regardless of the cost because seeing Mayweather bloodied, beaten and full of excuses will be priceless. Pacman is in the discussion as an all time great. Mayweather will be remembered for being a running, excuse making, trash talker that got busted up the first time he really fought somebody of note in his prime. Pacman over Mayweather in 9. Count on it.
