It's all well and good when you have a gun, a big gun at that and it helps you kill an animal. But here's the story of coach Pat Summitt, women's basketball coach at Tennessee, and why she just had a bit of surgery.
Summitt, already known as a tough broad, a steel magnolia and by the way, the coach with the most wins in NCAA college basketball history (including all men's programs), helped her trusty dog avoid a nasty fight with a raccoon.
That was back in March of this year and she dislocated her shoulder. No way was Pat going to miss March Madness with her Lady Vols poised to take the national championship again. She didn't and the Vols did.
Remember Candace Parker's shoulder injury and how she fought through it while it was heavily wrapped? I didn't see any wrap on the arm of Coach Summitt. Now we know why Parker "shouldered" on. Sorry for that.
Take that Sarah Palin. Take that Bobby Knight. And you go Pat. I might actually hum a bit of Rocky Top just for you.
