Prior to the start of the football season, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson said he wanted to emulate Dallas Cowboys star Terrell Owens. But only on the field, not Owens' off-the-field behavior.
I can understand not wanting to hire a publicist who calls 911 after you have a bad reaction to medication. I also get the fact that without Drew Rosenhaus as an agent, it might not be possible to hold out, trash your quarterback and force a franchise to toss you out of town.
But as far as I know, TO has a laser beam stare that points him to the end zone where he drops the football and dances or uses the ball in a pantomime move straight out of street theater performers. He doesn't deprive himself of his right to party and that means the end zone is the place to be.
DeSean Jackson's nonchalant dropping of the football prior to him entering the end zone in last night's game between the Eagles and the Cowboys (see video below) puts him in the pantheon of idiots who have graced the gridiron.
Did you know that in a high school bowl game he missed the end zone while performing a somersault that started at the 4-yard line and came up short ? Unfortunately for Jackson he wasn't at the Olympics being judged on whether he "stuck" the landing.
As the broadcasting team mentioned during last night's game, Jackson's showboating reminded everyone of Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Leon Lett's classless and clueless move in Super Bowl XXVII. Neither Lett nor Jackson cost their team a game, but if the young receiver wants to emulate TO then he should get it to the end zone and then he too can cost his team a penalty on the next kickoff,
