In my business, Incidental Contact (www.incidentalcontact.com), I produce material for women or for male sports novices to teach them the basics of the games many of us know and love. In that way, I hope they will learn to appreciate why we seem to spend so much time watching sports and give us a break. I call the condition many of us suffer from "Sports Guilt."
Some enlightened women who don't nag their sports-obsessed partners about their time in front of the tube were encouraged to bargain for the no-nagging clause in the marital accord. They get something that's important to them in exchange for uninterrupted sports watching. We have an Examiner who writes about how to deal with a sports-a-holic spouse; you should check her out if you're so inclined.
But the big enchilada for bargaining is a holiday game or match. If you are able to watch sports on television while family and friends sit around the table or under the tree you are treated to a whole host of games that will keep you sated for a while. If you have built up that kind of capital in your no-nagging position, then this guide is for you. You lucky thing.
