Seven years of bad luck is what it means. In the universe of Adam Jones, just what the heck would that constitute? In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, Jones was part of a scuffle/altercation/fight with a bodyguard while at an event related to a movie premiere. He has a 24-hour detail assigned to him to keep trouble away from him, but what happens when the trouble is home-grown?
We'll never know how the mirror got broken in a restroom at a hotel in Dallas since it is not in the best interest of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to be forthcoming. Thursday morning the team announced it had conducted an investigation into the incident and is satisfied that it calls for no discipline. Well, of course it doesn't. The Cowboys are already down one star defensive back and if Jerry Jones wants to get to the Super Bowl he believes that Adam will have to help take him there.
The NFL will investigate the facts and league commissioner Roger Goodell ,who was interviewed on the Tirico and Van Pelt radio show on Thursday, said that he and Jones have no misunderstanding between them about how short the rope was that he was given to play with. Goodell expressed displeasure at even having to review any facts surrounding misbehavior of the bad boy.
So what kind of bad luck might befall Jones after he smashed a mirror? He could be sentenced to a life that drives him crazy, in which he watches as his friends go to parties and clubs without him. He will have to forego retaliating against any perceived slight or physical touching even if he is justified in doing so and his on-field behavior will have to be exemplary. What's that? His life is already like that? Well, no wonder he busted loose. Who wouldn't want to live as he chooses? Bad luck for Pacman is remaining in the NFL. Let him go and let him be who he really is.
