New PS3 due out in September, price slashed from old one by $100

The new PS3 Slim, available in September.
The time has come for video game consoles to be revamped and I'm sure that we'll be seeing quite a few more following this one. Announced by Sony today that they would be introducing a newer and slimmer PS3 in September as well as slashing the price of the older, clunkier model by $100.
Apparently Sony got up on stage today at GameCon and announced this. Some specs include sucking up 34 percent less power and taking up 32 percent less space on your shelf. You may recall that the original PS3 is a power hog eating up almost 5 times what a Nintendo Wii consumes.
