As a San Diego resident for nearly 25 years, it always seems to be bathing suit season…even in the middle of February. So don’t act surprised when I write about a local, up-and-coming eco-friendly bathing suit designer in the dead of winter!

Nikster is a new bathing suit company that is not only conscious of a woman’s body, but also of the preservation of the environment. Founder and owner Nikki Sayavanh is a local San Diegan who created the company to offer nature-inspired bathing suit designs to flatter every woman and also to raise awareness about organic business practices and the preservation of sea life. Sayavanh’s sexy designs are accessorized with pearls, stones, shells, bamboo and other natural elements. The company uses recycled materials when possible and pursues business practices to lessen their carbon footprint. She’s best known for her Brazilian bathing suits and she’s had fashion shows in some of San Diego’s hottest night spots.
 
Because of Sayavanh’s global travels, she sees the bigger picture and designates a certain percentage of her sales to promote a more sustainable planet, protect sea life, keep local beaches clean and improve the life in the third world countries that they do business in. Nikster donates to:
