I'm determined to make sure my active lifestyle doesn't get hampered by my desire to save money. So, when it came time to find new workout gear, I decided to try a discount retailer instead of splurging at Lululemon.
Normally, I find Old Navy apparel doesn't flatter my body, but their new GoGa Collection of yoga, walking and running items have all new shapes, tech specs and colors for 2009, so I decided to give them a try.
Imagine my surprise when their Fold-Over Yoga Pants ($19.50) flattered my butt just as well as my Lululemon Groove Pants ($98). The pants come in cute colors and have a flat seamed, wide waist band that makes them perfect for yoga and pilates class. Plus, when paired with the Mesh Inset Sports Bra ($15), the outfit is ideal for intense cardio workouts.
I still love Lululemon, but I definitely think the new Old Navy collection is a great buy for those looking to save cash on workout apparel and I'm not the only one raving about it!
Old Navy isn't the only big name retailers rethinking their approach to women's active apparel, Victoria's Secret, New York & Co. and Eddie Bauer also launched new fitness lines this year, so we'll have to see how all this competition affects smaller, niche brands, apparel quality and more in the upcoming Spring active season.
