
On Saturday, January 24, yoga studios, fitness centers and gyms across the country open their doors for free, discounted or donation classes in celebration of Yoga Day USA.
Created by the Yoga Alliance, Yoga Day aims to spread the word about yoga for all people, regardless of body type, age or fitness level.
So if you're looking for something fun, different and inspiring to do on Saturday, check out one of the events below.
Moksha Yoga, REI and Whole Foods Market team up for a day of workshops, demonstrations and free treats at the new REI store in Lincoln Park from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
All classes on Saturday, January 24 are free at Self-Centered Yoga in Roscoe Village. However, donations are accepted with all proceeds going to benefit Chicago Canine Rescue. There'll also be refreshments and a raffle.
Spanda Yoga in Ukrainian Village offers a free class from 4:30-6 p.m.
Starting at 8:30 a.m., Spirit Rising Yoga hosts a donation-based kundalini yoga mini marathon.
Lincoln Park's Veria Wellness Center offers a free yoga and meditation from 11 a.m.-3 p.m (donations will be accepted for the Chicago Women's Health Center). After class, participants can enjoy a complimentary smoothie, free chair massage, enter to win a spa package and take 20% off all yoga apparel.
