Do you have 30 minutes a day to spend with your kid?

“What a minute!” you say. “Before school, after school, weekends – I’m with that kid all day.”

That’s not what the people in Denver’s Mile High Parents program are talking about.

They’re talking about spending 30 minutes a day – 5,280 minutes a year – with your child in activities that will help improve their academic performance. They’re talking about things like reading with  your child.

Some 35 Denver schools are participating in the program, but this obviously is a good idea for more than Denver parents.

Think about it – when’s the last time you spent 30 minutes reading with your kid?
