The Hurt Locker

For moviegoers who like a little bit of story and suspense to go along with their explosions, The Hurt Locker is the movie you want to go see.

At Rottentomatoes.com, The Hurt Locker currently has a 95 percent rating compared to a 26 percent rating for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The war thriller was directed by Kathryn Bieglow (The Weight of Water) and shot on location in Jordan.

The cast includes Jeremy Renner, Ralph Fiennes, Guy Pearce, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Christian Camargo, David Morse, and Evangeline Lilly.

It's based on recently declassified information about a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), bomb squad team in present day Iraq.

The Hurt Locker was written by Mark Boal, a freelance writer who was embedded with a bomb squad.

The film is scheduled for domestic release in the U.S. on June 26th in New York and Los Angeles, going wider in July.
