The San Francisco Frozen Film Festival has announced its scheduled line-up of screenings for 2009.
Every July, SFFFF brings independent filmmakers and musicians to the San Francisco Bay Area from around the globe!
According to organizers, the festival itself is a collection of razor's edge independent films and bands. Included in the festival are nights of live music concerts, short films, animation, global features, long and short documentaries, skate films, music documentaries, and music videos.
All films screened and accepted into the festival inspire the artistic community with work that is leading film, music, and cinematography's evolution and that will ensure the Bay Area's reputation for innovation in thearts.
Of the filmmakers chosen to screen their films, some will win "best picture awards," all will gain additional press, some will meetfuturecollaborators, fall in love, and all will continue on the process of furthering what we hope to be long and fulfilling careers in the film and music industries.
As for the "Frozen Film Festival" moniker, the organizers point out that not only is San Francisco one of the great cities of the world, but none other than Mark Twain famously quipped: "The coldest winter I ever spent was my summer in San Francisco."
Some have disputed whether Twain actually said the words, but none have denied that the beautiful "City By The Bay" is affected by a summer breeze. SFFFF takes place every year in the "Dead of Summer," when San Francisco is at its most chill.
