The Asian American family comedy/drama Dim Sum Funeral opened in limited release in Los Angeles June 12 .

The film is sheduled to play June 12-18 at the Laemmle's Playhouse 7 and Laemmle's Sunset 5.  However, if audience response is favorable, its run maybe extended.

Dim Sum Funeral describes the life of four very Americanized children who fled their Chinese "Dragon Lady" mother in the 2000s. The film focuses on the deceased mother's place in the broken family, in which the children recount stories of the past and lament the barriers that exist between the siblings.

The film stars recognizable Hollywood actors Russell Wong, Julia Nickson-Soul, Bai Ling and Kelly Hu.  There are also strong supporting roles featuring Talia Shire, Lisa Lu and Steph Song.

Dim Sum Funeral was directed by long-time Wayne Wang production assistant Anna Chi.  The film was shot primarily on locations in British Columbia, Canada.
